Welcome to the SwingTones Big Band website.

The site contains details of the music and musicians, the venues at which the band has played, as well as indications of the wide client base enjoyed by the band. Many of our clients come back again not only for the music but also because of the professional way we approach each function.

Function organisers will find important information that will help solve their problems in deciding on the music for their function. With the right band in place it's one thing less to worry about.

The SwingTones Big Band is Johannesburg's premier big band specialising in the music of the Big Band Era. It's classy, exciting and professionally presented. The SwingTones is a big band in the true sense consisting of up to 16 musicians with full trumpet, saxophone and trombone sections together with the usual rhythm group of keyboards, bass and drums. We also have a resident male vocalist for those ever popular arrangements made so well known by the likes of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Tony Bennett, Bobby Darin, Harry Connick Jnr and Michael Bublé.

Our repertoire includes many of the ever popular melodies from the libraries of Glenn Miller, Duke Ellington, the Dorsey brothers and many other names from the big band era.

We are regularly booked for corporate functions both big and small, as well as a considerable number of weddings, now that many younger people are becoming increasingly interested in swing music. The popularity of artistes such as Michael Bublé, Robbie Williams and even Rod Stewart etc. are testament to this. Have a listen to the Big Band music recorded by the overseas band Westlife. It really is as good as the original.

Our music is guaranteed to make your special event go with a swing in more ways than you can imagine. The band performs at many venues in and around the greater Johannesburg area and will also travel to other locations.
